Engineer @ Snap
Building performance-critical iOS systems across media delivery, storage, diagnostics, and network quality for products at massive scale.

Identity
I'm Abraham Belayneh, a software engineer, designer, and photographer based in Los Angeles. My work moves between product systems, visual storytelling, and the communities that form around both.
At Snap, I work on core mobile infrastructure that reaches 800M+ users. I'm drawn to product work where engineering taste matters: fast surfaces, thoughtful defaults, reliable systems, and tiny details that change how people feel inside an app.
I'm especially interested in AI as a product layer, not just a technical category. The exciting part is turning powerful models into tools that feel personal, useful, and creatively amplifying: software that helps people make decisions, express themselves, learn faster, and build with less friction.
Outside of engineering, I create visual media through ALTERA Studios and explore the overlap between design, AI, climate, and social impact.
Building performance-critical iOS systems across media delivery, storage, diagnostics, and network quality for products at massive scale.
Creating cinematic visual work for people, brands, artists, and scenes with a focus on mood, composition, and honest presence.
Blending software, taste, and product intuition to make digital experiences feel precise, expressive, and useful.
Experience
From mobile infrastructure at Snap to cloud tooling at NVIDIA, I like work where technical decisions become visible in speed, reliability, and user experience.

Snap
Building network, storage, and diagnostics systems for Snapchat iOS, including production rollouts to millions of users.

Snap
Contributed to Snapchat's native iPad app and real-time page metrics for developer visibility into feature performance.

NVIDIA
Built internal leasing tools for 2,000+ employees, reducing average lease usage time by 20% and equipment downtime by 15%.

NVIDIA
Improved cloud Web UI deployment workflows using Docker and React-based tooling, reducing pipeline load time by 70%.
What I'm building next!
I'm exploring the space between product taste and model capability: tools that help people think clearly, create faster, and make better decisions without losing their own voice.
Small, useful agents for reflection, decision-making, creative planning, and turning scattered thoughts into structured workflows.
Experiments around AI-assisted art direction, image understanding, and tools that help creators move from mood to finished asset faster.
Interfaces that make model behavior feel legible, controllable, and genuinely helpful instead of hidden behind a generic chat box.
